I neglected to post my weekly list of "Very Good Things" yesterday because I was busy gallivanting around one of Oregon's hot springs. Bagby Hot Springs is located in the Mt. Hood National Forest just near Estacada. A hunter found the site in 1880 and it's been opened ever since. It was recently purchased by a private company that manages hot springs throughout the northwest so there is a $5 admission fee based upon the honor policy. I spoke with the managing ranger who said he's been looking out for a fallen cedar to carve at least three new tubs. I just love that they reclaim fallen wood.
I'd highly suggest a visit. It's just a mile hike throughout the forest and you're there. The hike is beautiful with a very wild ecosystem. As of now, I am making it a goal to visit as many hot springs as I humanely can this year.
Also, my belated VGT list...
