WE HAVE ADVENTURES: ROAD&CAMPING TRIP

We packed up my Element (named Vader) early Thursday morning with a simple goal of spending the weekend exploring the Redwoods and other nearby landmarks.  By the time we got to Lincoln City I realized I forgot to reset the odometer.  From there we made our way down the Oregon Coastal Highway 101 stopping at nearly ever single lookout there was.  Port Orford was abnormally lovely.

We made it to the beginning of the Redwood National Park around 10pm and set up camp at the nearest grounds. The next day we spent most of our morning and afternoon driving around the different lookouts, hiking through some trails and just being completely enamored with the world.

With some coaxing on my end, we headed North to Lake Shasta, stopping along the way at Whiskeytown and a few other quaint towns. We rented a party barge for four hours, drove to the middle of the lake and just swam.

On our way back to Portland we stopped at Crater Lake. As a native Oregonian, I'm pretty ashamed to admit that it was my first visit.  It was so perfect.

I'm thinking of heading east towards Yellowstone National Park for my next trip.  Either that or I am going to  head back to Shasta, drive the extra 3 hours south to San Francisco, and take the beau to Santa Cruz.  Who is coming?
