THE RESULTS ARE... NOT IN

Last week I picked up my first two rolls shot with my lovely Mithril from Citizens in SE Portland. I have some slight focusing issues that I need to work on but in general I was pretty happy with most of the photos. I would like to get an additional film back so I can shoot Ektar and Portra simultaneously so I decide which film I like more.

What do you shoot with?

  1. Portra 400 or Fuji 400H. You can't beat the skin tones for portraits with both of those films. I'm not a huge fan of Ektar myself. Check out the new Portra 160 too. I've been thinking of using it more myself, especially with the Hasselblad in bright sunlight since it can't shoot faster than 1/500s.

  2. I prefer the saturation Ektar gives me, the Portra is too cold, washed out for my tastes.

  3. I really like the colors from the Portra. For people, it's my go to. It can definitely look a little cold, but I like cold.

  4. No joke if you shoot 35mm often, please try Kodak 400 gold. It's mostly all expired but is so friggin money.
