ALL HALLOWS EVE'

In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I'd share some of my costumes of years past!

In 2011 I was a... Tron Siren.

I had a latex dress made by my highly caffeinated friend who poured her heart into it for nearly a month and finished it just minutes before the party.  I wore my white Jeffrey Campbell 99 Wedges, contact lenses and a LED battery pack.  As we walked into the warehouse we could see the eyes of so many envious women in poorly constructed costumes and dimly lit glow sticks trailing us.  A few attendees, who were so obviously rolling, kept trying to touch us as sweat poured down their faces.  I ended up backing my sober self into a corner and using Aumie as a human shield.  It was a very good costume but a very terrifying party.

The key to wearing latex is lubrication.  That way, the outfit just slides on.  The more you know...

In 2010 I was a... Last minute bunny.

I was heading to a last minute Halloween party and needed to throw something on really quickly.  I had everything I needed at home, including my bunny ears from dorky Easter gatherings.  I even used a white loofah for a tail!

In 2009 I was... probably something easy.

I've lost evidence of it.  Instead, here is an adorable  Polaroid of Romeo dressed as a chicken.  You're welcome.

In 2008 I was... La Catrina (with Sid Haig).

It's hard to see the detail of the dress but it's a steel boned dress with little skeleton heads for buttons.  The zipper ended up getting stuck last year so I just decided to cut it off.  Such a sad, sad bear.  

2007 was the year of a pathetic attempt at a dead raccoon, 2006 was the year of the last minute nerd and 2005 was just this awfully cheesy black death angel thing.  I think I was attempting to be sexy but it just turned out sad.

I still haven't decided what I want to be this Halloween. I'll either be a nurse from Silent Hill or a skeleton with my favorite Louise Black custom corset.
